Hotel in Galicia: Hotel Bosque Mar

This is a relatively little known corner of the Iberian Peninsula which attracts history and culture buffs, water sports enthusiasts, seafood lovers and tourists that like to escape the crowded Southern and Eastern coasts. Galicia has become an established all season tourist destination.

Galicia has two official languages - Galician and Spanish (known in Spain as Castellano, "Castilian"). Galician is recognized as "mother language" of Galicia and is related to Portuguese language.

The coastline comprises of tiny coves, sandy beaches, high cliffs and several fishing ports and is divided into three main regions:
- Rías Altas in the North is lined by forested hills and is good for swimming;
- Costa da Morte has tiny fishing ports and its population lives in a very traditional way;
- Rías Bajas has the best beaches and it's the most southerly coastal area in Galicia, very close to Portugal.

Inland the region is green and wooded, especially along the valleys. Galicia is known as the land of a thousand rivers.
